A Pleasure to Photograph the R. Family

It was a privilege to photograph the R. family.  I don't know how they do it, but they are raising three outstanding young gentlemen who have such empathy, manners and fine etiquette.

Paris in the Fall

The last time we visited this city it was at the end of November and very, very chilly.  It seemed like another city completely as it was just myself and my sweetheart and in the month of September.

 The Arc du Triomphe.
We felt privileged to watch a WWI ceremony at the Arc.
We climbed up the 284 stairs that leads you to the amazing view of the city from the top.
I had done my research and planned to enjoy sunset and the lighting of the tower from the Arc, but when I looked at the time, I was given the time from London (which is an hour behind), so we waited for some time up on top, after walking all day in the warm sunshine it felt chilly but it was well worth the wait and ache of the arms (since I left my tripod at the hotel).  The view was spectacular!

Happy 11th Anniversary, to my Marine whom I have loved for a long time.
 Paris at dawn.

 The Eiffel Tower at dawn.

We visited Luxembourg Gardens, were Cosette and Marius first meet (in Victor Hugo's book, Les Miserables).

And to see the Statue of Liberty, her  mini and the tree the French planted for us after 9-11.

We smiled as we heard the laughing of French children as they pushed the sale boats on the water with their wooden sticks.

We walked to the Pantheon where many influential French were buried, to include Victor Hugo.

Notre Dame was beautiful as always!

St. Merri, an old church tucked in the side of a busy street (we nearly missed it).

Victor Hugo wrote the barricades took place on this street, as it's windy and narrow and ideal for the French Revolutionists to throw chairs, desks and whatever they could out of the windows to barricade the streets.
The front door of the church, St. Merri.

First time for everything, a double decker train!
Paris was exciting and beautiful, but it never felt so good to come back to my favorite island in the world....Great Britain.
